Plumber Quote Template

A plumbing quote has to do more than state a price. It needs to show the customer exactly what work is covered, from stripping out the old sanitaryware to making good afterwards, so there is no argument later about what was included. This template is laid out the way working plumbers actually price jobs: labour and materials itemised separately, with clear lines for the fixtures, pipework and consumables the job needs.

Typical line items on a plumbing quote include the call-out or diagnostic visit, first fix and second fix labour on bathroom and kitchen work, copper or plastic pipe and fittings, the boiler, cylinder, radiators or sanitaryware being supplied, and waste disposal for the old kit. If the job touches gas, the quote should note that commissioning and certification by a Gas Safe registered engineer is included or excluded, because customers rightly ask. Making good, such as reboarding and skimming after chasing pipes into walls, is the line most often forgotten and the one most often disputed, so spell it out either way.

Plumber quote FAQs

What should a plumbing quote include?

Your business and customer details, a quote number and date, a validity period, itemised labour and materials (pipework, fittings, fixtures), any call-out or diagnostic fee, waste disposal, making good, VAT if registered, and your terms. For gas work, note the relevant certification.

Should I list labour and materials separately?

Yes. Customers can see where the money goes, and it protects you when material prices change. List copper or plastic pipe, fittings and fixtures at cost or with a stated markup, and labour either per day or as a fixed price for the job.

How long should a plumbing quote be valid for?

Thirty days is the norm for domestic work. Copper, brass and boiler prices move quickly, so a stated validity date means you are not held to a figure that no longer covers your costs.

Can I edit the plumber quote template?

Yes. Download the Word version to change wording, add your logo and adjust the sections, or use the free online quote generator to build the same document in your browser and save it as a PDF.
