Landscaper Quote Template
Landscaping jobs are priced from the ground up, quite literally. Before a single slab is laid there is excavation to allow for, a sub-base of MOT Type 1 to bring in and compact with a whacker plate, and usually a skip or grab lorry to take the spoil away. A good landscaping quote itemises each of these stages so the customer can see that the price covers proper groundworks, not just the paving or turf they will actually look at.
This template gives you line items for the way landscaping work is really measured: paving and patios per square metre with the sub-base and bedding stated, turfing or seeding per square metre including topsoil and preparation, fencing per metre run with posts and gravel boards listed, and decking split between the frame and the boards, whether timber or composite. Drainage and soakaways, retaining walls, and planting schemes each get their own section, because bundling them into one lump sum is where disputes start. Machinery hire, such as a mini digger or whacker plate, should appear as its own line so the customer understands it is a real cost of the job.
Seasonal timing is worth a sentence on any quote. Turf and seed have best windows in spring and early autumn, and wet winter ground can slow excavation, so noting an expected start window alongside your 30 day validity period sets expectations from the outset. What should a landscaping quote include?
Your business and customer details, a quote number and date, a validity period, and itemised sections for each part of the job: excavation and groundworks, sub-base and compaction, paving or turfing per square metre, fencing per metre run, drainage, waste removal, machinery hire, materials, VAT if registered, and your terms including any deposit.
Should I price paving and turfing per square metre on a quote?
Yes, but show the measured area alongside the rate. A patio at a set price per square metre only protects you if the quote states the square metres measured, the sub-base depth and the laying pattern included. Customers often extend a patio once work starts, and a clear per-metre rate makes pricing the extra area simple.
How long should a landscaping quote stay valid?
Thirty days is standard. Timber, sleepers, paving and composite decking prices move with supply, and skip hire costs change too. A stated validity date stops you being held to a figure priced on materials that have since gone up.
Can I edit the landscaper quote template?
Yes. Download the Word version to change wording, add your logo and adjust the sections, or use the free online quote generator to build the same document in your browser and save it as a PDF.
